What is a Meal Plan?

A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at 8 dining locations across Fairleigh Dickinson’s Florham and Metro campuses. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes, Flex Dollars and in many cases Fairleigh 1Card Dining Only Cash, conveniently loaded onto your Fairleigh 1Card. No need to carry additional cards or cash!

Meal Swipes

Meal Swipes give you access to any of our all-you-care-to-enjoy food halls, including The Dish at the Florham Student Center and The Dish at the Metro Student Union. You can select from traditional comfort favorites at Savor and Spice, made-to-order stir fry at Create Kitchen or a hot bowl of ramen from Umami. No matter what you’re in the mood for, we’ve got you covered!

Flex Dollars

Flex Dollars may be used at any FDU Dining location. Visit our locations page for location information, including dining hall menus and hours of operation.

Meal Exchange

Meal plans A, B, D and the Commuter Block 50 offer Meal Exchange, allowing students to use a Meal Swipe in exchange for a combo meal at most campus food venues beyond our all-you-care-to-enjoy dining halls. A combo meal consists of a select entrée option, side and beverage and is intended to provide a full meal replacement. Students can enjoy 1 meal exchange per day, Monday - Friday, at retail outlets such as Daily Zen and Florham Perk located on the Florham campus as well as Dickinson Café and the Bridge Café on the Metro campus.

Fairleigh 1Card Dining/Grubhub Dollars

Many meal plans come with Fairleigh 1Card Dining Only Cash. These funds may be used through Grubhub at a number of off-campus dining locations. Visit the Fairleigh 1Card site for more details.

Managing Your Plan

There are three ways you can check your Meal Swipes, Flex Dollars and Fairleigh 1Card Dining Only Cash balances:

With the cashier when you check into either of our two Dish dining halls
On your receipt after a purchase at any dining location
Visit the meal plan office on the second floor in the Florham Student Center or Metro Student Union, open Monday-Friday 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
